Project description
Edinburgh – one of the world’s oldest university’s – chose Fairways Sportsgrounds for two key projects at Peffermill Playing Fields. In summer 2014 the Fairways team worked on the re-orientation and refurbishment of an existing natural grass pitch to provide an upgraded and SFA compliant surface. The work spanned a 12 week period.
The Edinburgh venue is also home to the National Hockey Academy run by Scottish Hockey, located just three miles from Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street. During summer 2010, Fairways Sportsgrounds installed the ‘Triple T’ System – a revolutionary new FIH global system. Uniquely it requires very low amounts of water making it both eco-friendly and cost effective. It features more than a million mono-filaments per m² and uses a special sub base.
